The battle is long and fierce, and many times we may fail in strength at different seasons; all we have is ourselves to hold on to. Jesus gave us one commandment: to love one another, to look after one another, and to care for each other.
“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another” – John 13:34
The battlefront is not a place for envy or ego where we mock and gossip one another’s problems but a place to help each other because we are engaged in the same battle against the devil and his minions (Ephesians 6:12).
Love is a weapon that holds us strong and keeps us standing together in faith as one family. It is never easy, but the Holy Spirit gives us the grace to know the struggles and the pain of one another, for us to carry them in intercession and encouragement. The battlefield is not the place to show superiority or achievements to each other or to show we are better or more, but through discernment, we show and give grace, love, and compassion, knowing that the Lord is the source of our own strength and not ourselves.
No matter how strong we may be, there will be a season we may need the help and strength of another to keep us standing. We are not self-sufficient; our sufficiency is dependent on the Lord and distributed within the body.
There will always be support required from the Lord and brethren: emotionally, mentally, prayerfully, financially, educationally with encouragements (Galatians 6:2). The Lord is able to use others to move you ahead in the bond of unity and love (1 Thessalonians 5:11). Man will always need another man, no matter how great he may be (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). God supports His children by leading other children to carry their crosses for them and encourage them. Bearing each other’s burdens makes the cross lighter (Galatians 6:2). God will not come down from heaven to carry the cross physically for a believer again, but He has children He can use. The world is filled with burdens, different kinds for each person, different shapes of crosses to bear, yet God knows how to care for His people (1 Peter 5:7).
