You have to be soft and light to be able to float in the atmosphere of peace. Peace will make you feel lighter and not heavy, because the heaviness of heart and mind would have dissolved. Unforgiveness, pride, and bitterness bring heaviness. They make people sink down to the pit; it’s an unseen weight. Jesus is called the Prince of Peace. He was able to walk on water because that’s the atmosphere peace creates. Having it in abundance leads to the overflow of it into our surroundings. It flows out in our relations, words, and actions. We do have the aroma of it when we have it.
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” – Colossians 3:15
An attack would first pass through a lot of road stops before getting into the heart of a believer. Even if it gets there, it is quickly dissolved and neutralized, because peace carries a powerful dissolving shock wave that breaks down arrows and attacks. Peace is the gate that secures our joy. It is an energy. The arrow would pass through the gate of forgiveness, the gate of love, the gate of humility and submission, the gate of self-sacrifice, the gate of compassion, the gate of oneness, the gate of understanding, and lastly, the gate of peace before getting to the heart.
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:7
Things do take away our peace. Attacks to break down this defense will always come. This is why we need to strengthen the hold by understanding all the gates that hold firm the defense of peace as listed above. Knowing that if you do not forgive it is a sin will encourage you to do it sooner and quickly. Maintaining peace is not an easy effort, but it gets better as you learn to forgive and ask for forgiveness quickly.
“Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.” – Hebrews 12:14
Peace helps us to overcome fear, knowing that no matter what happens, the Lord is in control. It’s an assuring atmosphere not attached to earthly things we may have or achieve. It is self-dependent on the Holy Spirit within us. He springs it out of us, assuring us that all is well.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – John 14:27
We are here for a short time, and it’s never the time to lose our peace over insignificant things or purposes. But when we remain focused on the Lord and His presence, we obtain greater power of peace in the midst of any storm.
