Living by faith is a way of living that has been long forgotten in the survival history of Christianity. It is one of the prominent teachings of Jesus to rely on God for the provision of food and clothing.
Matthew 6:25-30
25 “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?”
Jesus knew that the world is in chaos and many things are meant to change as time goes on. It is necessary for the children of God to learn early to seek God, rely on God for their daily needs. Many times, we throw aside living by faith and apply it only in times of salvation or healing, but do you know it’s applicable to our daily living?
Living by faith comes with a cost, it is a cost of service. God will always sponsor you if you are useful for his kingdom. Even if you are not, just as he feeds the birds and ravens, and cloth the flowers, he can still feed and cloth you. Relying on God in times of trouble is a proof of living by faith.
How do you proof faith?
Faith cannot be proven if there are no challenges. Challenges are the main tests and equipment’s that determines Faith and the level. The time taken of endurance is one of the factors of determination of faith. Remember the story of Abraham, how he waited for so long? Yet he was said to be the father of faith. It was because his faith was tested by time and endurance.
